Small Changes That Add Up to a Completely Different Handgun

Every upgrade adds something on its own, whether it's a new control or a finish change, and browsing Glock accessories usually turns up exactly these kinds of options. Stack enough of them, though, and the difference becomes obvious the next time you pick your gun up at the range.

You Notice Grip Changes First

The clearest way to see the effect is to follow one build through a few changes. A flared magwell and a mag base plate extension are two of the most common starting points. These custom Glock 43X accessories are small, inexpensive swaps that make reloading faster and provide a better grip, changes you’ll likely notice the very first time you pick it back up.

One Change Opens the Next

A SIG P365 threaded barrel upgrade adds external threading in place of a factory barrel. On its own, that's a mechanical change rather than a cosmetic one, since a threaded muzzle is what makes it possible to attach a suppressor or a separate compensator later, building on the threaded barrel change. Threaded barrel laws vary by state, so it's worth checking local regulations before adding one to a build. With a comp and the better grip from the mag base plate, your handgun suddenly handles much better.

Finally, the Slide and Spring Tie It Together

Finish the upgrades with a new slide and spring. A new slide not only gives your gun a new look, but also gives you a better grip when racking it. Meanwhile, a new spring, easy to add when you switch the slide, makes for more reliable cycling. This is especially true when combined with a better grip from the mag base plate extension.

All of these upgrades together can transform how you use and feel about your gun. If there's a handgun in your safe you've never quite connected with, these upgrades are worth trying.
